Coinbase($COIN)前首席法務官Paul Grewal表示，將《CLARITY法案》未能通過歸咎於Brian Armstrong的說法「相當可笑」。
Foresight News報導，Grewal表示，他曾與Armstrong每天在業界推動《CLARITY法案》相關妥協方案。
Grewal說，他與Armstrong共同推動法案協商，也連續數日與銀行業遊說代表討論。這些代表被要求不論法案內容如何，都必須阻止法案通過。
Grewal表示：「我每天都與Armstrong在業界推動《CLARITY法案》的妥協方案，也連續數日與那些接到任務、無論內容如何都要阻止法案的銀行業遊說代表坐下來討論。」他藉此否定法案協商由單一企業人士決定的解讀。
《CLARITY法案》是規範美國境內虛擬資產發行、交易與監管架構的市場結構法案。若法案通過，可能建立區分SEC與CFTC職責的監管框架，因此長期被業界視為重要立法事項。
Brian Armstrong此前曾敦促美國參議院處理《CLARITY法案》。
